That's your reminder this week. That's the take home. It is short and simple and something you have probably heard a million times before...but there is beauty all around us. It is so easy to loose sight of that.
Connor and I hiked to the top of a mountain the other day, and the whole time I was just in awe of the greens in the trees and how the light from the sun shimmers through the leaves every once and awhile. It was beautiful.
I guess what I'm saying is don't let yourself get so caught up in the business and hectic nature of life that you forget the sunsets and the mountains, that you forget the vastness of the ocean and the endlessness of the sky. When you do that as an "artist," I think you are truly separating yourself from art. Fall in love with things again.
Get overly excited by the colors in the sky. Find a new favorite flower.
I'm not asking that you give up your love for the city (especially because that's where my heart lives most of the time). All I'm saying is that you let the world you live in move you.
Be moved.
