In 2010, I went to a small concert at a local community college. This was one of the many concerts in my life that I’ve attended without knowing anything about the artists before hand. The band playing that night: The Avett Brothers.
About half way into the first song, I was hooked for life. I fell in love. Their musicianship, harmonies, and songs blew me away! I was completely captivated. There is something really amazing about sitting in a room full of strangers who are all experiencing really incredible music just washing over them. It is beautiful, and absolutely one of my favorite things about going to concerts.
I remember looking around during one of their slower songs, and seeing all the people in the audience just utterly connected to the music. Of course, that is all because The Avett Brothers were in the song 100%. You could feel everything they were feeling, and everything they felt when they wrote the song. It was such an incredible moment, and it made me fall even more in love with performing.
I got to see them again a couple years later, at a much larger venue. The experience was a little bit different, but their talent and wonderful performance hadn’t changed one bit! I simply cannot speak highly enough of these men! They are an inspiration to me, and I am so thankful that that fateful March night in 2010, I got to experience their music.
After I saw them for the first time, I came home and wanted to know more about them. So, I probably watched about a hundred videos on youtube of them singing, doing interviews, really just anything I could get my hands on. (And if I’m being completely honest…I have done this about 10 other times since then. Whoops!).
Anyway, I want to share with you a few of my favorite videos that I have found throughout the years. Enjoy <3
P.s. The first two make my heart ache because the songs are so beautiful.
The last two always make me smile, because I love how much fun they have with their music.

Also, here is a little update on some things that have been going on these last couple of weeks: 1. I re-joined the world of Twitter! 2. I've been sending in applications and contacting some of my favorite festivals to play at. 3. I'm working on a new song. I plan to have it done as soon as finals are over! | |
Check back next week for a new post! <3
