Getting back into the swing of things is always a little weird. Last night was my first night back at SWAN since I have been home. I can’t tell you how nice it was to be around musicians who love to write music simply because they love to write music. I think it really makes a difference in how I think about my own music. I am challenged and inspired by being around other passionate musicians/songwriters. It is quite refreshing actually. I also was able to run sound a little bit last night. That was the first time in a couple months that I have been behind a sound board. I am really happy to report that it is still something that makes me happy. Running sound is still something that I absolutely love. (That is a really nice reminder to have since I go back to school for that in a couple of weeks!)
This week has held some pretty exciting things so far. On Monday, my fiance and I put a temporary hold on our wedding venue! We have been slowly planning our wedding pretty much since the moment we met! hah! It is so exciting to be actually making steps towards the big day though! These last few weeks, we have been nailing down some of the little details of what we want. It is so surreal most of the time. All I can say is that I hope everyone gets to marry their best friend. I know I am, and nothing has ever felt so sweet!
Another incredible thing that happened on Monday is that I had my first actual job interview. I have been very blessed to be able to focus solely on my music and school up until this point, but it was only a matter of time before I had to get a day job. I applied a few different places, but the only one that got back to me was Starbucks. Now, if you know anything about me at all, you know that I count coffee as one of my main food groups….so really what could be better?? Anyway, I had the interview and I was nervous and awkward, but an hour later I got a call saying that they wanted to hire me! I will probably be starting in the next couple weeks. I am really excited about it! Don’t worry though, I will still be doing gigs on the weekends (check my events section on my Facebook page for more details) and will continue posting weekly blog updates.
Lastly, Monday after my job interview, I went to Atomic Lotus and scheduled my tattoo appointment for next week! I am so beyond excited about it! I have wanted this lavender bundle tattoo for months now…and everything finally fell into place for it! You can expect pictures and the story behind it next Wednesday!
Anyway, that’s my life lately. I hope you all have a lovely week!
