And we have tons and tons of festivals to celebrate the art in our culture. I love going to festivals and being a part of something bigger than myself. I love being around people who are passionate about what they are doing. After all, all you can do is “find what you love and let it kill you”
That is exactly what you find when you go to The Trail Dance Film Festival. It is two days packed full of films from all over the world and some from the streets of Oklahoma itself. Usually each film that is shown has a representative from the film…someone who spent a lot of time and love to get their work of art where it is today. This is the third year in a row that I have gotten to attend this festival, and just like each year, I leave feeling inspired to continue creating.
I think that is a really powerful thing. It is good to have a reminder that…
What you are doing is important. It can move people. It can connect people. It isn’t about you; it’s about everyone else. Don’t lose sight of that. It is far too easy to fall discouraged in this industry, but you have to fight your hardest to not let that happen.
